My understanding is as follows:
1. Support local affiliates by providing personal expertise when sought and serving as interface to the LPF EC;
2. Work with local individuals in unaffiliated counties to encourage and assist with organizing; and,
3. Provide as such LPF EC support as possible as warranted and as solicited on Committees and special projects.

From my perspective region reps have three main jobs:
1) Protect the brand
2) Affiliate counties
3) Be an information conduit between counties and the EC

The Region Rep job is different depending on if a county is affiliated or unaffiliated.
Unaffiliated:
  • actively work to find potential EC members and candidates
  • build rapport with local news outlets/elected officials
Affiliated:
  • work closely with the affiliate (if they want) to solve any problems including but not limited to: finding candidates, replacing EC members, and figuring out what they should be doing as an affiliate
  • act as a liaison between the LPF and affiliates
